Westchase Elementary Student Receives Drinking Water Award
The Tampa Water Department Drinking Water Award recognized one outstanding Hillsborough Regional Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics Fair project related to drinking water resources and/or water conservation at the Elementary, Middle and High School level.
Approximately 1,900 elementary, middle and
high school students competed last month at the 2012 Regional Fair.
The winner of the Elementary School division was Grace Pipp from Westchase Elementary. She entered a project titled "Rollin on the River." Grace's project explored the effects on water quality in the Hillsborough River by different types of community development: park, residential, or downtown.
Grace received a gift card, a Certificate of Achievement and a Water Conservation Kit.
