2 Shot in Early Morning Attack

The incident took place on Baymeadow Court around 2 a.m. today, Oct. 31.

Hillsborough County Sheriff’s deputies are searching for two suspects wanted in connection with an early morning shooting on Baymeadow Court.

The incident happened just after 2 a.m. today, Oct. 31, outside a home at 9116 Baymeadow Court, which is near the Northwest Hillsborough Family YMCA.

The home’s owner, Roberto Anderson, 39, had just come home and decided to take his dog for a walk, according to a sheriff’s office media release. When he went outside, he saw a man standing by his front door. The man pointed a rifle at Anderson.

At this point, Anderson and the gunman got into a scuffle during which the gun went off, striking Anderson in the index finger, groin area and thigh, the release said. While that scuffle was going on, Anderson noticed a second armed man standing by a car parked near his home.

At this point, Anderson’s wife, Christi, 38, heard the shots and came out of her home. One of the suspects then fired at her, striking her in the leg with buckshot, deputies say.

Both Andersons told deputies they had never seen the suspects before. The couple was taken to St. Joseph’s Hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

Deputies are now looking for the two suspects.

Anyone with information about the case is asked to call the sheriff’s office at 813-247-8200. Tips can also be submitted through Crime Stoppers for reward eligibility.
