World of Beer's "Ugly Sweater" Party And Christmas Brews

Each week "Cheers, Westchase!" helps you kick off your weekend, highlighting either a beer, cocktail or wine you can find right here in the neighborhood.

Fa-la-la-la-la. It's the holiday season and World of Beer has two Christmas brews that promise to be as crisp as the year's first snowfall. (Or so we hear.) True, it may never snow here in Tampa, but these two brews are sure to put an elfish pep in your step.

The first is Belgian-brewed Delirium Noel Christmas Ale.  It's a darker ale with a full body, and quite strong at 10 percent alcohol by volume! The second is Missing Elf Doppelbock, which is new to WOB and comes from Lithuania (9.5 percent). This is a golden orange, medium bodied ale with hints of sweetness.

You can try both of these at the Christmas party being held Thursday, December 20. Raise your glasses with food, drink and ugly Christmas sweaters!

"We know that it's Florida and it'll probably be 70 degrees outside," says World of Beer manager Dung To, "So if it's too warm to whip out that ugly sweater, we invite you to dig up that funny holiday tie, hat, or t-shirt that you swore you would never wear."

Ugly Sweater Holiday Party
