Hillsborough Schools Closed Monday
The district just made the announcement that classes are canceled Monday, Aug. 27, in light of the impending arrival of Tropical Storm Isaac.
Hillsborough County public school students don’t have to report to classes tomorrow. Thanks to Isaac they're getting the day off.
The school district made the announcement at 9:21 a.m. today. No decision has been made about holding classes on Tuesday.
Tropical Storm Isaac is making its way toward the Keys and is expected to begin affecting weather in the Tampa Bay area sometime later today. The storm is anticipated to reach hurricane strength as it makes its way through the Gulf of Mexico.
The storm has also canceled the first day of proceedings at the Republican National Convention in downtown Tampa.
Stay with Patch for updates as they become available.
