Kids and Canines Work Together at Summer Camp
The Tampa Day School's campers prepared dogs for service this summer.
This summer, Tampa Day School student Nicholas Wimbish attended “Kids and Canines” — a four day assistance dog training program.
At the camp, Nicholas groomed and trained 2-year-old Lewis who is preparing to be a service dog. Nicholas and Lewis bonded all week as they worked together. Soon Nicholas will be invited back to the graduation ceremony when Lewis is placed into service.

My son, Harrison, attended this camp for the first time this year. He loves animals and just had the best time. It's learning and care of animals for a good cause all wrapped up in one! Would highly recommend! Dyan Pithers

I am Nicholas the person featured in the article. Just so you all know. Tampa day school has nothing to do with this program. They recently got a thearpy dog from kids and canines. The kids and canines phone number is 813-558-5406. The website is kidsandcanines.org. Don't go to the tampa day school website for this program.

Lewis update: Lewis has recently been placed with an older man (may change in the coming months depending how things work out). Lewis is 3 now, mastered all 89 commands, and is now ready to be to be an official service dog. Keep up the great work Lewis!
