After a summer of renovations and waiting, the Achieva Credit Union will open on Thursday at 12105 W. Linebaugh Ave. in the Publix shopping center.

On Tuesday, the hardwood floors inside the credit union gleamed and work men and staff scurried around putting finishing touches on the location.

This is the first Hillsborough County location for Achieva, which has 14 branches. The soft opening will take place on Thursday, but grand opening activities are planned for October, said Jennifer Capo, branch manager for the Westchase location.

The branch will have a 24-hour ATM and offer Saturday hours.

The Florida-based credit union has 100,000 members and is spending $10 million to create a 67,000-square-foot headquarters location in the Dunedin offices formerly occupied by Nielsen Media, according to the Tampa Bay Business Journal.

Achieva replaces Blockbuster Video in Westchase, which closed in March. Westchasers sounded off earlier this year when Patch announced a credit union would be filling the space.

The Achieva Credit Union hours will be Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. and Saturday from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.
