Also, keep in mind that Hillsborough Sheriff's deputies will be on hand to ensure that motorists are obeying posted school zone speed limits and adhering to bus traffic laws. Drive carefully, and leave plenty of time to get to school and work safely today!

"The advice that we give to anybody is give yourself plenty of time and to be patient, because on the first day of school lots of parents want to drive their kids to school even though they're going to be driving a bus everyday of the year," said Stephen Hegarty, Hillsborough Schools spokesman. "It makes for much more traffic, so if everyone is patient and realizes it's the first day everything will be fine."
