Beauty & Banter: Summer Wedding Dresses To Fit Your Budget

Tips and Tricks to be Classy and Elegant for Any Type of Wedding

Summertime marks the beginning of the wedding season and of course that means you will may need to find the right dress to wear to this special occasion. I have a wedding to attend in June and found several options that are great for variety of different budgets.

But first here are a few of my fashion tips for wedding wear:

  • Try to avoid wearing anything to tight, low cut, or slinky to any kind of wedding.
  • Shoes should be appropriate for the climate and landscape of the destination. For example wearing five inch heels to a beach or garden wedding isn't probably the best idea because it will make walking very difficult. Try flat sandals or if height is still what you crave, a sturdy wedge with give you that lift.
  • Wearing a white dress is still a big faux paus. Let the bride have all the attention since it is her day, but you still want to go for the light colors add a pop of color and try to make the outfit not resemble a wedding gown by avoiding lace, chiffon, and fabrics of those sorts. Linen and cotton are very breathable for warmer climates and are also very flattering on most body types.

Here's some options to consider:

Whitley Dress In Antique Floral ($245)- I really like this dress because it is a beautiful floral pattern that would be amazing when worn to an out door or day wedding. The colors go well with most skin tones and can be worn dressy or more understated for a less formal affair.

Banana Republic Paula Knit Patio Dress ($130)- This elegant maxi dress has the summery vibe but also a sophistication with the fabrics soft sheen and the rich pecan toffee color. This dress would be perfect for a beach, garden, country, or even city wedding given it was styled with the right accessories. This is my choice to wear to a New England wedding in Maine with simple flat sandals and minimal jewelry.

ASOS Belted Tulip Dress ($60.88) - Soft sheer chiffon is dreamy with this belted red dress. It is a standout dress with a color that will compliment most skin tones. This dress would best worn to an evening wedding in the city with black patent stilettos. Bold makeup and pin straight hair make this outfit and look a stunner.

Until next time,
