What I Am Thankful For • A Dog's Perspective

Some people like to call me a "Chiweenie." I'm kinda funny looking to some, but you can call me Tino. I know I am very thankful for a lot of things and I thought I would share my list.

Hi, my name is Santino Biss...but you can call me “T.” I see all these commercials on TV when I am sitting next to my mommy, about what people should be thankful for this Thanksgiving. I know I am very thankful for a lot of things and I thought I would share my list.

I am thankful;

10. when I find small food treasures in the grass while on a walk
9. when the warm sunshine hits my living room carpet during the day
8. for weekend visits to the dog park with my buddies
7. for my mom and dad who hold my chewies so that I can get a good grip while chewing.
6. for the small car adventures to Dairy Queen, the library or even the bank!
5. for the validation that I get when my parents see me
4. for the individual special time that my parents spend with just me
3. for the air in my lungs, the food in my dish and the unconditional love that I get from people
2. for the ability to teach my parents how to enjoy the present moment
1. for the second chance my parents gave to me

There are a lot of other animals like me, who may not feel as lucky or as thankful as me this Thanksgiving. Make sure if you do have a furry friend in your family, to not forget about them this holiday season. If you don’t have a pet like me in your home, you should check out some great animal shelters in the local area like Pet Pals. There are plenty of great companions like me, who would be more than happy to thank you for saving their lives and provide you with unconditional love.

A little about me!

Some people like to call me a “Chiweenie." I am part Chihuahua and part Dachshund. I’m kinda funny looking to some, but you can call me Tino. I now live in Westchase, I love swimming in the Gulf of Mexico, hate flies, I love hot dogs and pretty much have my parents trained to fetch my toys when I don’t feel like it. I am 2 years old. I was put up for adoption when I was a puppy, because my other family couldn’t take care of me anymore. I was placed into the Pet Pals Animal Shelter in St. Petersburg for a second chance to find another family. I’m so glad that I was lucky enough to finally find my second family, because after two long weeks barking my head off at Pet Pals, I lost my voice and a quite possibly a little hope of finding a new home. However, Pet Pals made sure that I got this second chance. If it wasn’t for them (and my new parents), I don’t know where I would be.
