5 Things To Do With the Kids This Week

With the kids home from school, use these activities happening around the neighborhood to keep them active.

1. Block Party - Kids use Lego building blocks to build during a fun, creative afternoon. The library provides the Legos; kids provide the imagination. This month's theme: Skyscrapers. 2. Storytime - Stories, action rhymes, songs and interactive activities make up this engaging 30-minute program that highlights early literacy skills and encourages reading readiness and social interaction for kids 3-5 years old. 3. PowerPoint for Kids - Participants will use Microsoft PowerPoint to animate a story. Limited seating, register in person no more than one hour before start. Tuesday, Nov. 20 from 2:30pm-3:30pm. Austin Davis Library, 17808 Wayne Rd. For more information call 813-273-3652.

4. Gingerbread House Class - This class allows you and your children (up to three kids) to decorate your own gingerbread house. One adult is required for each family group; children should be at least 4 years old. $50 for the whole family. Friday, Nov. 23 at 10:00am. Publix Apron's Cooking School, 7835 Gunn Highway. 5. Teddy Bear Round Up- Help some less fortunate children by donating a new teddy bear for the John Winter Teddy Bear Round-Up in partnership with the Rough Riders of Tampa Bay. The bears will be given to children in local hospitals. Take donations to the concierge desk at Westfield Citrus Park mall through Dec. 24. 8021 Citrus Park Drive.
