Aston Gardens Festival Raises Thousands For Worthy Cause

The festival was held last week at Aston Gardens in Westchase.

Aston Gardens at Tampa Bay held its third annual fundraiser to benefit the Life Enrichment Center on June 9. The event included an art show and sale, a brunch buffet with mimosas, interactive art, raffles and a silent auction, live entertainment, art demos, psychic readings, and more.

“This was another wonderful event,” said Ronna Metcalf, executive director of the Life Enrichment Center. “The brunch is quite literally the icing on the cake. The food at Aston Gardens is absolutely superb."

The event raised $3,000, said Beth Leto, director of community relations at Aston Gardens, which is located at 12951 West Linebaugh Ave in Tampa.

“Every year, it gets bigger and better and everyone has such a good time," Leto said. This year, more than 250 from throughout the Tampa Bay area attended the event."

Silent auction items donated for the fundraiser included an original signed copy of a Dagwood Sandwich by Blondie comic strip artist Dennis Lebrunn; a three-night stay in a custom built log home in Georgia; and an audio memory recording session with personal historian Paula Stahel, who teaches life writing classes at the Center.

“We thank Aston Gardens for their community involvement and their support for our non-profit organization," said Metcalf. "It is a win-win collaboration for both of us, and especially for the community and the people we serve."
