Volunteers, Sponsors Needed For Golf Fore Life Tournament

The LifeChoices Women's Care fundraiser will be held on Oct. 20.

Golf is fun. Golfing for a cause even more so. And the community will have a chance to support a local organization on the course when LifeChoices Women’s Care hosts its Golf Fore Life tournament on Oct. 20.

In addition to golfers for the event, organizers also are seeking volunteers and business sponsors to support the tournament, which provides funding for LifeChoices’ free services for expectant and new mothers.

Services include obstetrical ultrasounds, pregnancy testing, nursing assessments, prenatal vitamins, parenting education, peer counseling, and post-abortion support if needed, event chairman Tom Beach said.

LifeChoices Women's Care  is supported primarily by donations from individuals and businesses throughout the year, as well its three major fundraisers.

Last year’s golf tournament provided about 5 percent of its annual budget, Beach said.

The success of such events helps ensure that LifeChoices can keep its doors open another year, Beach said.

Business sponsorships range from $150 to $5,000, and include several perks, including complimentary foursomes and branding on all advertising. Read more about sponsorships here.

There are several opportunities for event volunteers, Beach said. Volunteers will help with contests, registering players, selling tickets for door prizes and other duties.

They are in need of about 12 people, he said.

“Every event needs sponsors, but a golf event needs players most of all,” Beach said.

Players and sponsors can register online at lifechoicesgolf.org.
