Meet Mason: Westchase Pet of the Week
Meet Mason, a Border Collie who lives in Wycliff with his owner Rie Crowley.
Patch: How did Mason get his name?
Rie Crowley: He was already named when we adopted him from Border Collie Rescue in Texas. My son found him online. We liked his name, so we kept it.
Patch: What was he like as a puppy?

Crowley: He was nine months old when we got him. Is that still considered a puppy? He was and still is very active, inquisitive, playful and loving.
Patch: Does he have any good buddies either human or animal?

Crowley: Our old neighbors on Spring Rose, Dave and Connie. They have two little dogs, Gracie and George. Well not so much George. George is a grumpy old man! He also has a little buddy, named Peanut, that we always see on his walk. He is a Golden Retriever. They have a blast at the park. All friendly dogs are his buddies.
Patch: So, I guess George would be his nemesis?
Crowley: No. Our cat, Georgia is definitely his nemesis!
Patch: Does Mason do any tricks?
Crowley: Oh, yes! He can sit, high five, shake, roll over and speak. I am working on teaching him hand commands.
Patch: Is he a picky eater?
Crowley: No! He loves “see-food”. He sees food and he eats it!
Patch: Does he beg for food?
Crowley: He doesn’t beg. He sits next to us and quietly waits for us to finish eating.
Patch: Do you plan on doing anything special with him for the holidays?
Crowley: He will get a stocking. My 21 year old son, Brad is coming home. He misses Brad, so that will be a surprise for him.
Mason’s Favorites:
Foods: steak, peanut butter.
Toy: any pull toy.
Place: Honeymoon Island
