Patch: How did he get the name Phantom?

Lauren Terrell: I had the name before I got the dog.  I had in my mind that I wanted an all black dog.  The name just came to me one day.

What was he like as a puppy?

Terrell: I got him when he was eight weeks old.  He didn’t do anything for the first two weeks.  He just laid there all the time.  He was very scared and cowardly at first.

Patch: Does he have any good buddies, either human or animal?

Terrell: He lived with my Mom for a year.  She has a Collie/Chow mix named Nissan.  They were inseparable.  When they had to take Nissan to be put down, it was like he knew what was happening.  He moped around for a while.  Now, he is good friends with my Aunt’s Yorkie, Prince.

Patch: Does Phantom sleep in the bed with you?

Terrell: Yes, unfortunately!  He is very sneaky because he knows he’s not supposed to be up there.  He waits until he thinks I’m asleep and then he will creep into the bed with me.  I’ve actually caught him doing it before.  He sleeps like a person; on his back with his legs wide open.

Patch: Is he a finicky eater?

Terrell: He is not picky at all.  He will eat anything.  I feed two scoops of Purina Dog Food once a day.

Patch: Does he beg for food?

Terrell: No, not really.  He will beg for a treat after his walk though.  He is used to that reward for going outside.

Patch: Do you plan on doing anything special for him for the holidays?

Terrell: I will probably take him to the groomer.  That way he can get extra nice and feel good.
