Meet Victor: Westchase Pet of the Week
This week we met up with Rose Bock and her 80 exotic birds in Odessa. It was a tough choice, but we decided to feature Victor, a rare Hyacinth Macaw, because of his beautiful blue coloring!
Patch: When and where was your pet born?
Rose Bock: Victor is 11 years old. I acquired him when he was 7, so I don't have that information. He will outlive me for sure, as this breed lives well over 100 years!
Patch: Does he have any brothers and sisters?
Bock: Birds are normally laid in a clutch of 3, but again I did not hatch him so I have no way of knowing. Victor does have a large family of about 80 exotics now!
Patch: How about a Nemesis?
Bock: For some reason, Victor has taken a extreme dislike for my girlfriend LeeAnn. I think that it is a jealousy issue as LeeAnn and I are very tight.

Patch: Favorite song or TV show?
Bock: Victor loves to watch pro football with me. He is on my lap all day Sunday for preening, lovin' and snacks!
Patch: What did he get for Christmas?
Bock: A great new chew toy.

Patch: If Victor was a ice cream flavor what would it be?
Bock: Macadamia Nut Ice Cream
Patch: Does Victor take naps? If yes, when is his favorite nap time?
Bock: Birds generally sleep after they eat; kind of like our husbands right?
Patch: What is his favorite snack or treat?
Bock: Victor LOVES Sweet and Salty yogurt bars; what a hoot!
Patch: What tricks can he do? Bock: Victor loves to ask for a shower and loves to receive one! He also loves to sing "Victor, Victor, Victor" in a sing song voice. He asks for crackers, bananas; banackers (not sure what that is but maybe it rolls off his tongue in a pleasant manner!!)
Patch: Does he get along with other animals, dogs, cats?
Bock: Victor is a very much a presence. No dog or cat would mess with him; and he loves to be the big guy when around other birds.
Patch: Has he taken a particular liking to any frequent visitors? aka - mailman, trash collector, fedex guy, etc
Bock: Victor loves good lookin' women (especially partial to blondes) Funny thing is LeeAnn is light haired. Hmmmm...
