St. Joseph's Hospital Launches Christmas in July Toy Drive

The public can donate toys or make monetary donations.

St. Joseph's Children's Hospital is working to bring joy to patients who may be going through the biggest challenges of their young lives.

The hospital is collecting monetary donations and new unwrapped toys during a special "Christmas in July" drive. The community is welcomed to drop off toys in person at the hospital on Friday, July 26 from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the circular drive in front of St. Joseph's Children’s Hospital, 3001 W. Martin Luther King Jr. Blvd.

The items will be used to entertain and comfort hospitalized kids throughout the year, according to a press release from the hospital.

"Medical settings are a new, unfamiliar world for most children, and providing them with a toy or activity can bring a momentary escape from the hospital experience and their illness," said Kelly Outlaw, a St. Joseph’s Children’s Hospital Child Life Supervisor. "A well-stocked toy closet ensures that patients receive a gift on holidays, birthdays, during significant milestones in their treatment and whenever they need additional comfort."

Can't make it to the toy drive? Here's how you can help:

  • Make a monetary donation online or select a gift from our virtual toy store throughout July at StJosephsChristmas.org.
  • Become one of our the hospital's partners – dedicate a percentage of sales toward “Christmas in July,” host a workplace giving campaign, put a toy drive donation box in your place of business and/or make a sponsorship contribution. Sponsorships available starting at just $1,000.
