Westchase Recreation Center Expansion Nearly Complete

If you've driven by the Westchase Recreation Center lately you may have noticed a large building to the left of the existing center at 9791 Westchase Drive.

Though the center's 10,000-square-foot expansion looks like it's done, it isn't quite complete, said Dona Smith, the center's recreational program supervisor. The multipurpose gym expansion is expected to open in the early fall, Smith said.

Once complete, the center will begin offering expanded programming. To gear up for that, the center has begun offering Monday night Zumba classes. The classes will happen Monday nights at 7 p.m. 

Class goers do not need to be a member of the recreation center to participate. For more information about the class, call the county's recreation department at 813- 635-3520.
