Westchase YMCA Closing for Repairs

Westchase YMCA Express members hoping to fit in a quick workout over the weekend might want to visit another location.

The 9878 W. Linebaugh Ave. facility is closing its doors Friday through Sunday, March 29-31, to have a new drop ceiling installed, explained Lalita Llerena, spokeswoman for the Tampa Metropolitan Area YMCAs.

Construction crews are reporting to the facility on Friday to install a drop ceiling “to better serve our members,” Llerena said. The change will help prevent the collection of dust, she said.

While construction continues, YMCA Express members are being asked to use the Northwest Hillsborough Family YMCA location at 8950 W. Waters Ave.

“We apologize for any inconvenience and appreciate the community’s patience and understanding,” she said.

All YMCAs locally are closed on Sunday for the Easter holiday
