6-Foot Tall Babies Born at Busch Gardens

The park has welcomed two newborn giraffes.

Where can you find babies that stand 6 feet tall and weigh nearly 200 pounds?

That would be Busch Gardens Tampa, where two giraffes were born in June.

A 6-foot tall, 188-pound male was born to Cupid, a 15-year-old giraffe, on June 11. A 5-foot-8-inch tall, 145-pound female was born to Tesa, an 18-year-old giraffe, on June 19.

By the time they’re adults, the babies are expected to stand 18- and 16-feet tall, respectively.

Want to see the newborns? You can find them on the Serengeti Plain at Busch Gardens. The best view is from the Serengeti train or the Edge of Africa area of the park, according to a Busch Gardens press release.
