Art Show at Library Honors Humanitarian

The Life Enrichment Center continues its Jan Platt Traveling Art Show, currently on exhibit at the Upper Tampa Bay Library at 11211 Countryway in Westchase.

Original artwork is on display and for sale at the Upper Tampa Bay Library.

The art work was done by members of The Life Enrichment Center, which offers a creative outlet to adults who may never have had the time or the opportunity to explore their talents.

The adult artists who attend classes at the Life Enrichment Center range in age from their 50s to their 90s. More than 40 academic, creative and health and wellness classes are offered at the Center throughout the year. Satellite classes are held at in Westchase and MOSI.

The Jan Platt Traveling Art Show, currently on exhibit at the Upper Tampa Bay Library, includes 18 paintings of various media and will be on display through April 30, 2012.

This traveling art exhibition honors the Center’s Board member and long-time Hillsborough County Commissioner, Jan Kaminis Platt. Platt is well known for her support for the arts.

The Jan Platt Traveling Art Show will travel to various locations throughout the year, including the Hillsborough County Libraries and other venues. Paintings in the show are available for purchase. A portion of the proceeds of sales benefits the Life Enrichment Center, a private, non-profit organization.
