Aston Gardens will turn into a classy art gallery on June 9 when the local retirement community hosts a fundraiser that includes a brunch buffet and art show to benefit a nonprofit organization for the arts.
, located at 12951 W. Linebaugh Avenue, is hosting the show as a fundraiser for the Life Enrichment Center in Forest Hills from 11 a.m. until 2 p.m. on Saturday, June 9. Admission is $10 per person, which includes the buffett and mimosas and a dessert bar.
The event includes live music, art demonstrations, a psychic reading, raffles, door prizes and a silent auction. Vendors will also be on hand to sell items like jewelry, said Ronna Metcalf, who runs the LEC.
All proceeds will benefit the LEC, which provides wellness and health classes for adults.
Metcalf said she wants the event, in its fifth year, to allow people to "Have a good time, meet new people and buy and appreciate art."
If nothing else, Metcalf said, they can "enjoy looking at it."
