Girl Scouts To Honor Women of Distinction: Nominees Being Accepted Now

Each year the Girl Scouts of West Central Florida honor remarkable women in the community. Nominate someone you know today.

Do you know a woman's whose accomplishments make them a positive role model to girls?

If so, the Girl Scouts of West Central Florida (GSWCF) wants to know about them. The organization has announced an open call for nominations for its prestigious Women of Distinction recognition. In addition to the Women of Distinction, the inaugural Woman of Promise Award will be presented to a deserving young woman under the age of 35.

To be considered, Women of Distinction and Woman of Promise nominees must live within Girl Scouts of West Central Florida’s geographic boundaries (Citrus, Hernando, Hillsborough, Marion, Pasco, Pinellas, Polk and Sumter counties); nominees are not required to have been Girl Scouts.

Women do not have to have been Girl Scouts to be nominated. Nominations will be accepted through Monday, Sept. 10; applications can be downloaded from the council’s website, www.gswcf.org/wod. Honorees will be announced in October.
