Dress For Success Power Walk at Westfield Citrus Park

Create a team and take part in the Dress for Success Power Walk on Sept. 15.

The area's first Dress For Success Power Walk will take place 8:00 a.m. on Sept. 15, 2012 inside the Westfield Citrus Park Mall.

Dress for Success is a non-profit organization that helps disadvantaged women by providing professional clothing, a network of support and the career development tools they will need to give them a second chance in work and in life.

The Power Walk for Dress for Success is a 5K that promotes an active lifestyle and healthy living. Dress for Success launched the Power Walk for Dress for Success as a "walking testament" to the organization’s work to help disadvantaged women become healthy in all aspects of their lives –
careers, physical well being, and emotional health.

Since May, this walk has been held in 30 other cities internationally. The 2012 Power Walk for Dress for Success marks Tampa Bay’s first time doing the event.

"Dress for Success is focused on helping women take the necessary steps to live a healthy lifestyle,” said Katie McGill, chief executive officer of Dress for Success Tampa Bay. "The Power Walk will impact and inspire not only them but also their families."

The Power Walk for Dress for Success is open to the public and participants are encouraged to create a team of friends, walk with family, or participate as a Virtual Walker online.

The walk will begin in the center of Westfield Citrus Park between the food court and the Red Robin restaurant. Walkers will do a complete circle inside the mall three times.  Each walker will also get swag bags including coupons and goodies for participating. Proceeds will support the programs and services of Dress for Success Tampa Bay.
