Farmer's Market Debuts Saturday Morning in Westchase

The market opens at 10 a.m. on Saturday morning in the Westchase Town Center.

After weeks of anticipation The Westchase Fresh Market will open at 10 a.m. on Saturday, Oct. 13, in the Westchase Town Center.

The event is organized by Tampa Bay Markets, a grassroots company who organizes farmer's markets around the area, including Hyde Park Village and Seminole Heights Sunday Morning Market.

The Westchase market will be held every second Saturday of the month, said Tiffany Ferrecchia, director of operations for Tampa Bay Markets.

The Fresh Market will feature a variety of local vendors selling fresh, local, homemade, handcrafted or eco-friendly products. The mission of the market is to provide as much locally sourced fresh fruits, vegetables, plants and flowers, as well as locally made and produced take-home foods and artisan type products.

More than 60 vendors have signed on to be at the market on Saturday, Ferrecchia said.

The market will take place on the grassy lawn in the Town Center, located at 9622 W. Linebaugh Ave. in Tampa.

Shoppers can enjoy live music by the Arlington Road Band on opening day. Children’s activities include a bounce house and face painting.

Ferrecchia said the market still has at least 10 vendor spaces open for local vendors. To inquire about becoming a vendor go to: http://www.tampabaymarkets.com

"We really like having vendors from different areas," Ferrecchia said. "We're picking the best of the best to bring."
