Summer Wine Fit For Flip Flops

Each week "Cheers, Westchase!" helps you kick off your weekend, highlighting either a beer, cocktail or wine you can find right here in the neighborhood.

As evidenced by the humidity and rising steamy temps, summer is officially here and it is time to break out the Flip Flop...Riesling, that is.
If you're looking for an ideal vino to enjoy while sitting poolside, Flip Flop Left Coast Riesling can be your new go-to summer wine.

This is a Riesling is on the sweet end of the spectrum.  It is medium-bodied, with peach, apricot and melon flavors, which lead to a satisfying, smooth finish.  Made in Washington state, it is full of Tropical notes and sweet fruit aromas.
You can find a bottle for $9.99 at .  It's a great deal, and while we know we shouldn't judge a wine by it's bottle, let's admit: the label is pretty cute, which makes it a nice hostess gift for your next summer BBQ party.
Another key fact about this wine is that a portion of the proceeds from each bottle goes to Sole4Soles, a non-profit international shoe charity dedicated to providing footwear to those in need.

The Village Market holds each Friday evening. You can enjoy some wine at one of their outdoor tables, perhaps pairing aglass with an item off their new menu, which features some interesting flatbreads made on Indian naan bread, and what the owner, Marc Rose touts as "the best Cuban sandwich in Tampa." Their new hours are 7 a.m. to 9 p.m. Sunday – Thursdays, and 7 a.m. to 11 p.m. Friday and Saturday.
Raise a glass to summertime...but first make sure you fill it with something sweet and refreshing. Cheers, Westchase!
