Free-range duck confit with crispy skin cracklings. Coconut Thai Curry Chicken. Grass-fed Pulled Pork and jasmine rice.
Lucky for you these dishes plus more will be available during today's Odessa Food Truck Festival.
The event is happening today, Friday, Aug. 10, from 4 to 8 p.m. at the Odessa Organic Farmer's Market, 8071 Gunn Highway.
The festival was the brain child of Shane and Natalie Fitzgerald, owners of 3 Suns Organic Food Truck.
“We wanted to have food trucks available in that area, so we thought it would be great to have a spot where people know it's going to happen at the same time every month," said Natalie Fitzgerald, wife to 3 Suns chef Shane.
The food truck festival happens every second Friday of every month during the 4 to 8 p.m. time slot. The food truck selections will rotate.
The Fitzgerald's food truck features organic, gourmet renditions of familiar foods like braised beef and pulled pork.
Odessa Organic Farmers Market owner John Ciani is looking forward to starting the monthly food truck fest at the farmer's market.
"After the Green After Dark event in June it was so successful 3 Suns Organic Bistro were there that night and he approached me afterwards," Ciani said.
The rally is expected to draw more than 500 people, so get there early.
The food truck lineup is:
- 3 Suns Organic
- American Wiener
- Pocket Pirates
- 2 Asians and a Grill
- Whatever Pops
- Keepin' it Reel
- Tasty Stacy
