The sun was shining and the weather cool without too much wind made for a great day of golf and charitable giving last week at Emerald Green Golf Resort.
That was the location where the Third Annual Melting Pot Golf Classic took place.
The event, which happened on Nov. 5 was done in an effort to raise money for St. Judes Childrens Research Hospital. Last year the event raised $45,000 for the hospital. This year's goal was twice that.
"The most success for us has been telling everyone about St. Jude and they want to take part," said Golf Committee Chair Elaine Hanson, compensation and human resource systems for Front Burner Brands. "And Emerald Green is passionate about what we do."
About 180 golfers and 71 Front Burner Brands volunteers took part in the golf classic. Front Burner Brands, a Tampa based fast-casual and fine dining restaurant management company, including Westchase favorite Burger 21, GrillSmith and Melting Pot.
This marks the third year the company has hosted the golf classic to benefit St. Jude.
