Mobile Gaming Makes a Big Impact in Bay Area

The company, founded in early 2011, often donates its 32-foot theater for community events. It was most recently at Relay For Life at Davidsen Middle School on Friday.

Something big came to the Bay area a little over a year ago. Really, really big.

Lee Bekhor opened Mobile Gaming Revolution in March 2011. The business aims to amp up birthday parties, corporate events, fundraisers and festivals by providing a giant gamer’s paradise.

The 32-foot mobile theater is furnished with 10 premium video gaming chairs, seven flat screen TVs, and 14 fully networked XBOX 360s, Playstation 3s and multi-player ready Wii systems, Bekhor said. Mobile Gaming Revolution also offers laser tag.

“Trained and talented” staff members facilitate all events, he said.

The company often donates use of its mobile unit for charity events throughout the Bay area, Bekhor said.

The mobile theater was parked at Davidsen Middle School on Friday for the Relay for Life event.

Supporting community causes is important to Bekhor and his staff, he said.

“Everyone that works for me is a native of Tampa. We've all grown up here, made friends here, played sports here," he said. "I believe that now, because we are in a situation to give back, it’s extremely important to do so. Tampa is the only city I’ve ever known, but I believe that it is one of the greatest. It's great because of the community and I enjoy being a part of it and making it even better than it was before,” Bekhor said.

And the community seems to be supporting them right back. For a company just beyond its first anniversary, Mobile Gaming Revolution has garnered quite a following with more than 3,000 Facebooks fans and a constant stream of birthday parties and other event requests.

The mobile gaming unit is especially popular in Westchase. “It seems like we’re in there every weekend,” Bekhor said.

The company, which employs nine people including Bekhor, has one mobile theater right now, with a second planned to come online this summer. The company also recently began franching, Bekhor said.

Before opening Mobile Gaming Revolution, Bekhor was a senior contract administrator. So what possessed him to invest in gaming in such a huge way?

“I saw an opportunity to create a unique party and event experience. Mobile Gaming Revolution brings a whole new vibe and atmosphere that nobody else in the Tampa Bay area can provide,” Bekhor said.

After his time in the corporate world, Bekhor said the most rewarding part of owning and operating Mobile Gaming Revolution is “actually being able to listen to my employees, my customers and our community and knowing that I have the ability to make something better.”

During his previous career, Bekhor often felt “lost in the shuffle,” he said. “Opinions and thoughts of employees and customers oftentimes take a back seat to politics and profits. I’m glad to finally be in the position to change that.”
