The Golf Club Features Simulated Golf Courses, Sensational Martinis

The Golf Club is a new bar in Westchase, in the location formerly known as Big Daddy’s. I can say without hesitation that it is a veritable golf lover’s dream, but it also has plenty going on that makes it appealing to non-golfers alike. Inside this chic and contemporary bar are four theater golf simulator rooms that can fit 12 guests (in comfy leather seats), an indoor/outdoor patio, an enormous wrap-around bar, and a martini list to rival any downtown bar.

Enter the Cheers, Westchase pick of the week: the Orlando Encore Martini. This vibrant azure cocktail features Three Olives vodka, Malibu Rum, Blue Curacao, pineapple juice, and Chambord. What's in the name?  "I originally developed the recipe as the signature cocktail at my wedding," says Golf Club manager Adam Orlando. "People liked it so much that we brought it to the menu here and it remains very popular."

Sip this while you and your friends hit the links. The virtual golf wall at The Golf Club creates a bigger-than-life size golfing experience, replicating courses from around the world.  On a recent visit, we played 9 holes on California's legendary Pebble Beach.

The simulator keeps score for your group (kind of like the lanes at the bowling alley would.)  There are HD TV’s playing all sorts of sport games, Wi-Fi and super high-tech juke box type of machine that you have to see to believe.  On weeknend nights, DJ's spin dance music and amp up the party atmosphere from Golf Club to nightclub. 

I'm not a huge sports fan, but I had a great time at the Golf Club.  Even if you aren't a scratch golfer, it's fun to try your game on some of the most prestigious golf courses around the world while enjoying a cocktail with friends. The Golf Club seems like an ideal spot for holiday partys or New Year’s Eve.
