Patch Picks: Best Margaritas
Where to go for the best margaritas according to Westchase Patch!
- Blend Lounge: The Blushing Rita plays off a traditional margarita but gets its blush from a splash of Pomegranate juice and Pama Liqueur. Blend finishes it off with Sauza tequila and some sour mix for $6. Want a rita with fewer calories? Try the Skinny Rita which substitutes agave nectar for sweetness. Fresh lime juice and some orange juice also cuts down on the calories for this rita which is served with Milagro tequila for $7. If you are looking for something less fancy, traditional margaritas are $5 all day Saturday.
- Grille 54: Say hello to the Violet Margarita which gets its distinctive color from Monin Violet extract. Julio Blanco tequila is added to the mix along with fresh sour mix and an edible flower for $9. Pretty to look at and even better to sip.
- Zen Bistro Grill & Sushi Bar: As the thermometer goes up, cool off with Zen Bistro's Cool Mint Rita. They start with tequila and Cointreau but the cool mint comes in with the addition of White Crème de Menthe. Add a splash of sour and orange juice and top it all off with some fresh mint garnish. Voila! Cool Mint Rita. Or try the Papayrita for something more tropical. The Papayrita is a splash of orange juice and papaya blended, served with a salt rim. Then garnished with lime and papaya sword. Margaritas range from $8-12.
- Maloney's Local Irish Pub & Eatery: Don't let the name fool you. Maloney's definitely delivers a strong contender with their top shelf margarita. Nothing fancy, just the core ingredients of a traditional margarita done right. Start with Patron, add some Grand Marnier and sour mix. Finish it off with some orange juice and fresh lime juice for $8.
