Traveling Today? Tampa Airport Reports Delays

Westchase residents may experience louder aircraft noise today as well.

The Tampa Bay area woke up to heavy thunderstorms and high winds this morning. At 11:00am, severe weather and torando warnings continued to dot the region, according to the National Weather Service's website.

As a result the Tampa International Airport is reporting 45-minute departure delays for all northbound flights, according to a media report. Noise levels will be higher as well, which means a lot to the residents of Westchase where airplane noise is a constant.

According to the airport's report, low clouds reflect the noise back to the ground. Without that low presence, the noise from the aircraft would be absorbed into the atmosphere and dissipated.
