Variety Abounds at Grille 54

From Italian to sushi, this Citrus Park restaurant has a little something for everyone.

At first glance one might not anticipate the upscale fare that is available at . I didn’t quite know what to expect when I walked in and saw mounted big screen televisions in a restaurant that provided the kind of mood lighting that would lend a lovely ambiance to an intimate dinner.

Despite the unexpected décor, there was no ignoring the delicious aroma that was wafting from the kitchen.

After our party was seated at a cushy booth, we ordered beverages from the ample drink menu. Beer lovers and wine enthusiasts alike should be able to find something to satisfy from this expansive menu. After we quenched our thirst, it was time to think about food.

Grille 54 has the kind of expansive menu that has a little something for everyone. Starters include spinach bread, calamari, sliders and stuffed mushrooms. That’s just the tip of the appetizer iceberg I might add. Entrée options run the gamut from wood grilled prime steaks, to fish, to sushi and even Italian dishes.

We decided to take our upbeat server’s suggestion and began our meal with an order of spinach bread. It was the perfect marriage of buttery and cheesy goodness. We all marveled that an order that was more than enough for four people was a mere $3.95.

For our main courses we were each in the mood for something different. Luckily, we had come to the right place. I started with a deliciously fresh wedge salad and then indulged in the 14 ounce Rib-Eye, along with an order of the specialty side Lobster macaroni and cheese. Grille 54 offers an up charge for their specialty sides that is a reduced rate from their a la carte prices. My steak was cooked to my specifications and the mac-n-cheese wasn’t as heavy as one might expect, making it the perfect accompaniment to my steak.

Also delivered to our table were an order of Blackened Grouper with Pineapple-Mango Sauce, the Ginger Salad and the Go Ray Roll. I can’t complain about my steak, but my friend’s sushi roll was such a sight to behold, I do believe I’m going to have to try it out on my next visit. Entrees aren’t inexpensive, and one can expect generous portions.

After I had sufficiently filled my belly, I finished up with as good a cappuccino as I’ve ever had. Being a bit of a cappuccino fanatic, a poorly made one can put a damper on my dining experience, but this one had just the right amount of frothy foam. The espresso was rich tasting and it was steaming hot. It was the perfect ending to a delightful dining experience.
