53rd Annual Oldsmar Days March 28-30!

Are you ready for some good old Florida-style springtime fun?  The folks at the Upper Tampa Bay Chamber of Commerce sure are and they’re proud to announce our all-star lineup for Oldsmar’s 53rd Annual Oldsmar Days and Nights Spectacular.  Mark your calendars the weekend of March 28-30, 2014 so you and your kids can plan to take part in all the festivities. While some things have changed since 1961 the basics haven’t - friendly faces, fiery wings, fabulous cars, fantastic music, a carnival full of enjoyment and warm spring sunshine return to the shores of Old Tampa Bay for three full days of family-oriented music, food, and fun.

Oldsmar Days officially gets underway with the opening of the Arnold Amusements carnival and midway at 5 p.m. on Friday, March 28.  Opening night is always popular with the teens, who can grab an All-You-Can Ride wristband and spin ‘til the cows come home.  We’ll also have Jeff Vitolo and The Quarter Mile Rebels on hand laying down some tracks to get the event off to a rocking good start.  Jeff is an Oldsmar-based musician with a strong rock history.  He has shared the stage with countless national acts including Intice, Tyger Tyger, Headshock, Roxx Gang and The Mojo Gurus.

Saturday features the Oldsmar Annual Parade down State Street, Park Boulevard, Shore Drive E and Lafayette Boulevard.  So bring the kids, grab a spot, catch some beads and enjoy the parade.  The Shriners’ will join us again this year so be ready for some really zany stuff.  Then get back to RE Olds Park for some old-fashioned family fun including limbo, hula hoop and pie eating contests.  And don’t forget the music!  How could you with the red hot, up and coming Radio Crime fronting for the Bay areas long time favorite classic rock band Stormbringer?  And, we follow that up with the legendary Greg Billings Band.  Expect to hear a lot of classics that will remind you of Lynyrd Skynyrd, Led Zeppelin, Cheap Trick and some great originals. Greg prides himself in their live shows and says he has never had as much fun making music.  If you have ever caught Greg and the guys on the R E Olds stage you’ll know why!!  How’s that for classic rock?

And the heat just keeps on coming Sunday as we get crazy with Eccentric taking the stage.  Eccentric brings a unique mix of Electronic Dance, Rock, R&B, Funk, (and a little country) - playing great music to make you dance and sing (or shout) along.  You’re sure to love this one!  We’ll also have our traditional Wing Wars with six great local restaurants bringing the heat.

We will close Oldsmar Days with Ronnie Dee and the Superstars.  Ronnie is the son of legendary rock and roller Joey Dee (Peppermint Twist) and he is joined be his sister, Jamie Lee plus Andrew Beer and LeMonJello from the Swingin' Mooks plus George Harris and Leroy Myers from the Greg Billings band.  They just may be the greatest, most refreshing, sure to get you dancing, groovin’ band you’ve ever heard.  We can guarantee you’ll leave Oldsmar Days with a smile on your face and humming one of your all-time favorite tunes.

Phew!  And we forgot to mention, it’s all for free!
