Get Out: Weekend Events Preview Feb. 3 - 6

With a variety of entertainment venues and restaurants in the area, there's no reason to spend the weekend at home. We've put together a list of fun things to do in the Westchase area.

Patch is coming to the rescue. We’ve got the best bets for your done-work-outta-here time. Check our picks for the activities to hit and new bars/restaurants/shops to explore.

1. BUSINESS AFTER HOURS MIXER

Find out what's happening in Westchasewith free, real-time updates from Patch.

Where/When: Cody's Original Road House Grill, 11202 W. Hillsborough Avenue . Thursday at 5:30 p.m.

Why Go: Connect with local business owners and entrepreneurs after a busy day in the office and build your professional network. This is an ideal opportunity to promote your business or service, so arrive in professional attire with plenty business cards. This event is hosted by the Upper Tampa Bay Chamber of Commerce.

Where/When: The Village Market, 10110 Montague St. Thursday from 5:30 p.m. - 7:30 p.m.

Why Go: Join the representatives of Barefoot Wine & Bubbly for a free tasting at the Village Market.  Guests will enjoy samples of the brand's fine wines. Merlot, Shiraz, Riesling or a sparkling rosé, are among the selections. In addition, you'll receive 10% off any bottle of 1.5L Barefoot wine.

Pricing: Free, must be 21 years or older.

Where/When: World of Beer, 9524 W Linebaugh Ave. Friday from 9 p.m.-1 a.m.

Why Go: The end of the work week has arrived, unwind from the hustle and bustle of the office at World of Beer. The Sons and Soul band will perform all night for your listening pleasure, playing selections of original music and covers. Take advantage of drink specials on select domestic and imported drafts, bottles and wine.

4. LOCASH COWBOYS BENEFIT CONCERT

Where/When: The RoundUp, 13918 W Hillsborough Ave in Tampa. The show begins Friday at 10 p.m.

Why Go: Enjoy great music for a great cause, a large portion of all proceeds  will benefit the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society.  There will be a silent auction, merchandise raffle and more to help raise funds. The LoCash Cowboys will perform selections of original music including "Here Comes Summer" and "Keep in Mind". 

Pricing: $10 in advance, $12 at the door. Call 727-647-4995 for more details.

5. SLAIN OFFICERS BENEFIT

Where/When: Niko's Pizza and Seafood is located in Forest Lakes Plaza, at 3705 Tampa Road, Oldsmar. Saturday at 2 p.m.

Why Go: Niko's hosts a benefit in honor of St. Petersburg Police officers JeffreyYaslowitz and Thomas Baitinger, lost in the line of duty on Jan. 24. Guests enjoy live music, raffles and of course great food. All donations will benefit the officers' families.

Pricing: Free, donations accepted.

6. 

Where/When: Sweetwater Organic Farms, 6942 W Comanche Ave in Town 'N Country. Sunday at noon.

Why Go: Browse a variety of organic foods, all-natural products and more from local vendors at this outdoor market. This week's event features a performance by talented vocalist, Joey Errigo at 1 p.m., followed by Carl Wade and Friends at 2 p.m. Visitors are welcome to participate in an open mic session from 3 p.m. - 4 p.m. Pets are welcome.
