Marijuana Bust in Citrus Park

Hillsborough County sheriff deputies are on scene at the home. Arrests have been made in this unfolding case. More details to come.

A Citrus Park home was being used to store marijuana, according to Hillsborough County law enforcement.

Sheriff deputies responded to the home located at 8733 S. Meadowview Circle earlier today and found the drugs.

The department was tipped off on May 19 when Hillsborough Environmental Enforcement Unit began working an illegal dumping case in Odessa. Various materials were illegally dumped on private property there, according to the sheriff's department. After inspecting the materials deputies found a name and address, which led them to the Citrus Park home.

When deputies responded to the home they were invited inside where they discovered that the residence was being used to store marijuana, according to a statement issued by the Hillsborough County sheriff's department. A person inside the home fled, but was caught a short distance away from the scene.

The amount of drugs found in the home is still unknown as deputies are in the process of obtaining a search warrant. Check back with Patch for developing information in this case.
