Mother Arrested at Tampa International Airport

Neha Patel, 32, was arrested after telling her husband that she'd killed their son.

A woman who allegedly killed her one year old was arrested at Tampa International Airport Friday afternoon, according to authorities.

Neha Patel, 32, was apprehended by Polk County Sheriffs officials at 1:19pm on Friday after being notified by airport police. Officials said that Patel used her credit card on Friday morning at Tampa International's economy parking garage.

Airport police had distributed photographs of Patel and a description of her vehicle, a blue 2008 Toyota Sienna, to airport and parking facility employees.

Shortly after 1pm, an employee with Ampco Parking, the company that manages the airport's parking facilities, called the Tampa airport police department, advising that a car fitting the description of Patel's vehicle had been seen driving into the airport's parking garage.

Airport police officers Jason Thomas and Thomas Woods removed Patel from the vehicle and took her to an airport holding cell. Tampa Airport police contacted Polk County detectives. On Friday evening, Patel was waiting to be booked into
the Hillsborough County jail.

On Thursday, Patel told her husband that she'd killed her son, according to the WPTV News Channel 5 in Polk County.
