Thieves Take $79,000 in Yamaha Motors

The suspects cut a chain link fence to access Family Boating Center's Anderson Road property.

Hillsborough County Sheriff’s deputies say a thief or thieves helped themselves to two Yamaha outboard motors that were attached to vessels parked outside the Family Boating Center on Anderson Road.

Now deputies are turning to area residents for helping in finding out who is responsible for the theft.

According to a sheriff’s office media release, the crime took place sometime between 9:30 p.m. Oct. 21 and 12:30 a.m. Oct. 22. The thief or thieves cut a chain link fence at the 7806 Anderson Road business to gain access to the boats.

The suspect or suspects then walked away with two motors – a Yamaha F300 and a Yamaha F250. The motors have a combined value of $79,460, according to the release.

Anyone with information about the suspects or the crime is asked to call the sheriff’s office at 813-247-8200.
