Does Your Neighborhood Rock?

Hillsborough County is seeking nominees for its annual neighborhood recognition awards.

Has your neighborhood completed a beautification project, developed an informative website or social media page, or started a crime watch?

Hillsborough County wants to reward you for it. The county is now accepting nominees for its Neighborhood Recognition Awards.

Now through Monday, March 5 at 5 p.m. you can nominate your neighborhood by completing an application at the Office of Neighborhood Relations, County Center, 601 East Kennedy Blvd., 1st Floor in Tampa, or by going to the Hillsborough County Neighborhood Relations Web page at www.hillsboroughcounty.org/onr and click on Neighborhood Recognition Awards.

The Neighborhood Recognition Awards recognizes neighborhood organizations that have been active in civic affairs and worked collectively to improve and enrich their communities. Nominations are accepted in each of the following categories for events that occurred in 2012:

• Best Association Website

• Best Beautification Project

• Best Crime Watch or Safety Program

• Best Environmental Project

• Best Newsletter

• Best Umbrella Association

• Most Successful Special Event

• Most Successful Youth Program

 The winners will be announced March 24 at the during an awards luncheon.
