Library Expansion Results In Parking, Drop-Off Changes

Library goers can expect some disruptions while expansion is underway at the Upper Tampa Bay Library.

The long anticipated expansion to the Upper Tampa Bay Library is underway.

When complete, the 12,000 square feet expansion will include a larger children’s room, a bigger community room, increased study space, more space for computers and a bigger book store at the 11211 Countryway Blvd. location.

According to a county announcement here are a few things patrons will experience in the coming weeks:

Parking Lot & Book Returns

  • From approximately Monday, Jan. 14 - Friday, Jan. 25, part of the front parking lot will be blocked off while a sanitary sewer line is installed. 
  • For the safety of patrons, the drive-up book returns at the library’s entrance will not be accessible while the sanitary sewer line is constructed close by. Customer may return materials inside the library during regular hours, or after hours at other Hillsborough County public libraries’ book returns.

  • On Wednesday, Jan. 16, the contractor will begin erecting the temporary barrier wall that will separate regular library activities from building construction activities throughout the expansion project. This process is expected to take about a week.

- Town ’N Country Regional Public Library, 7606 Paula Drive, Ste. 120 in Tampa
