Relcaimed Water Pressure Low in Westchase

Westchase residents might find it taking a little longer than normal to water their lawns this evening.

According to Hillsborough County Public Utilities, a major section of the reclaimed water pipeline that serves the Westchase area has had to be closed off.

The 36-inch pipe was shut down so that county workers can have the opportunity to determine what “caused a depression in an alley south of Brompton Drive and east of Tate Lane,” wrote county spokeswoman Michelle Van Dyke in an email. “The reclaimed water line in that area is positioned above a 42-inch stormwater collection pipeline which appears to be damaged.”

While reclaimed water service is still available in Westchase, Van Dkye said residents may notice pressure that is lower than normal.

There is no estimate on when repairs will be made.
