Sheldon Road Construction End In Sight

Hillsborough County officials hope to have a section of Sheldon Road at Linebaugh Avenue reopened by tomorrow

Has the construction at Sheldon Road and Linebaugh Avenue been slowing down your afternoon commute?

Hillsborough County officials hope to have a section of Sheldon Road reopened by tomorrow after a construction crew ruptured a forced-main sewer line on Thursday, county officials said. The ruptured line blew out a large section of the road just south of Linebaugh Avenue.

"They should finish up today and open the road tomorrow," said Steve Valdez, county spokesman.

Crews are letting south-bound traffic through when no work is underway. Northbound lanes are being detoured onto Old Linebaugh Avenue. The accident happened as a subcontractor for the county was installing fiber optic cable, Valdez said.
