Townhome Proposal Gets Green Light

Hillsborough County Commissioners voted unanimously to approve a rezoning request that paves the way for 220 new townhomes in the Westchase area.

It’s official: Westchase is getting new neighbors.

Hillsborough County Commissioners voted unanimously Aug. 13 to approve a rezoning request that opens the door for M/I Homes to build a 220-townhome development off Sheldon Road, according to Commission Chairman Ken Hagan.

While the proposal had raised some concerns from Westchase residents, mainly related to traffic and environmental impacts, county staff recommended commissioners grant the request.
