'Caring for the Caregiver' Seminar Set For Dec. 7
AARP estimates that approximately 34 million Americans spend 21 hours a week providing care for a loved one or aging parent. That kind of commitment can result in caregivers putting aside their needs while taking care of family members.
Chapters Health PACE, a community-based service that helps frail elderly remain independent, is offering a free series of therapeutic group seminars for caregivers. The first in the series, “Caring for the Caregiver: Managing Stress,” will be held Wednesday, December 7 at 2 p.m. at the Chapters Health PACE Center, 5102 West Linebaugh Avenue in Tampa.
“Caring for the Caregiver: Managing Stress” will help caregivers learn new skills for managing the stress associated with caring for a family member or aging parent and develop techniques to find respite for themselves.
