Mrs. America to Serve as Keynote Speaker at Girls-Only Conference

The conference will be held June 12 at the Northdale Recreation Center but the deadline to register is May 30.

Hillsborough County Parks, Recreation and Conservation is holding a conference designed to raise the level of awareness about positive lifestyles, and the health and welfare of Hillsborough County girls.

The Girls-Only Conference is limited to the first 100 participants, age 12 to 17. The cost is $10 per person. The registration deadline is Wednesday, May 30.

The conference will be held Tuesday, June 12 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Northdale Recreation, 15550 Spring Pine Dr., Tampa.

The keynote speaker will be the reigning Mrs. America and Tampa native, April Lufriu.

Mrs. America is the only nationally televised beauty pageant for married women in America.

Workshop topics include beauty and fashion; career goals; character building; and health and nutrition.

The cost of the event include a T-shirt and lunch. This girls-only conference is sponsored by the Northdale Owls and the Friends of the County Parks.
