Sickles Graduate Gets Surprise Visit From Sister Stationed in Afghanistan

On Thursday, Army Spec. Sara Singleton, had an emotional reunion with her graduating sister Lindsey.

Sickles High senior Lindsey Singleton and her sister, Army Spec. Sara Singleton, had an emotional reunion Thursday when Sara flew in after a tour in Afghanistan and surprised her sister on stage at her graduation ceremony. The reunion was followed by thunderous applause and a standing ovation from the roughly 390 Sickles graduates and their family members in the audience at the Florida State Fairgrounds.  Sara, 22 and a 2008 Sickles graduate, has been stationed in Kunar Province, Afghanistan the last 10 months and returned to Tampa via Fort Hood on Wednesday.  On Thursday, she arrived at the graduation ceremony dressed in her Army fatigues and stayed behind the stage as the graduates accepted their diplomas one by one. When it came time for Lindsey, 18, to walk across the stage, Sara made her way up the ramp on the opposite side of the stage.  The sisters embraced before exiting the stage so that they could talk to reporters and commencement could continue.
