Update: Weather Delays Hillsborough Magnet School Buses

Some students might not make it home until after 6 p.m.

Update 5:43 p.m. Aug. 21: Families of students delayed coming home from Hillsborough County Schools are receiving phone messages from the district. Magnet school buses are still running late.

The first day of school in Hillsborough County isn’t necessarily going off without a hitch.

According to a Hillsborough County Schools media release, typical first-day delays have been added to thanks to the stormy weather.

“Magnet buses did not clear the 40th Street transfer ramp until 4:55 p.m., so some students will not arrive home until after 6 p.m.,” the release said.

My kids finally got off the bus 45 min late! A little nerve wracking with a 5 year old going on a bus for the first time!

My 7 year old son took the bus for the first time today. He got out of school at 2:30 and didn't get off the bus till 5:30!!!
