1. Take a nap!  Go ahead and give yourself permission to step away from it all. A short nap of 20-30 minutes can help to improve your mood, alertness and performance. Make sure you have a comfortable place to lie down, close the curtains, make it a comfortable temperature and set a timer. You will do yourself and everyone around you a favor.


2. Say NO! Set your limits. Choose only the events and parties that you know you will have a good time at or have the energy to attend.

3. Organize! When you have less environmental clutter, you have less mental clutter. Keep it clean and clear.


4. Have sex! According to a study from researchers in Scotland, having sex can help to reduce blood pressure, boost the immune system, create intimacy and even help you sleep better.

5. Don't abandon healthy habits!  Just because it’s the holidays, doesn’t mean it’s a free-for-all. Overindulgence only adds to your stress and guilt. Keep healthy snacks close at hand like cut up vegetables, a handful of almonds, a piece of fruit and plenty of water.
