Alonso Shows Up Big At Steinbrenner Invitational

The Ravens had many good performances at the March 19 meet, but the boys team took third place out of 79 schools.

The George Steinbrenner Invitational is the brainchild of Steinbrenner High School track coach Ladd Baldwin, University of South Florida track coach Warren Bye, and FHSAA coordinator of officials Nate Johnson. In its first year in 2010, the invitational drew 40 schools to the USF campus. Thanks to the hard work of the three aforementioned individuals and many others, it has become the largest meet in the state. This year, the invitational hosted 35 certified officials, with more than 2,000 student-athletes from 79 different schools.
