Westchase Relay For Life Tallies More Than $100,000

More than 600 people participated in the May 10 event.

More than 600 people spent a day and night walking around the track at Davidsen Middle School recently.

The walkers were participating in the Relay for Life Westchase to raise money for the American Cancer Society. Organized by the American Cancer Society and Davidsen PTA, this year's relay raised more than $107,000.

"But there is still money coming in," said Kendra Drake, Davidsen PTA President.

"The community as a whole came together to support friends and neighbors at an event that will help many others," Drake said.

The Relay took place on May 10 at Davidsen, which is located at 10501 Montague St. In addition to the walkers, residents, businesses and nonprofit organizations were also on hand selling items to raise money for the American Cancer Society.
