OMG PD: Grease Theft, Mayor's Gun Stolen, Peed Pants

Jeffrey Lannon Porter, a habitual offender who has been arrested and charged multiple times for DUI and driving on a suspended or revoked license, was arrested again earlier this month following a traffic stop in Largo. A Largo Police officer stopped Porter after witnessing his red Jeep crash into a mailbox and then leave the scene on May 7, according to an arrest report. Porter was pulled over outside of 201 36th St. SE, where the officer reported that Porter admitted to possibly striking the mailbox and showed signs of impairment.  Those signs included slurred speech, an odor of alcohol on his breath, bloodshot eyes and urination in his pants, according to the report. Synthetic Drug Sting Bites 2 Citrus Park Residents

The men, who live off of Sheldon Road, were arrested May 14 during a Pasco sweep targeting those who sell synthetic drugs.

Two Citrus Park residents were among four arrested when Pasco County Sheriff's deputies conducted a May 14 crackdown on stores that sell synthetic drugs to their customers. Dubbed Operation Consequences, the crackdown came on the heels of warnings from the sheriff's office that it would be going after businesses that make Spice, K2 and other synthetic drugs available to customers. To prove their point, Pasco deputies raided three stores suspected of selling synthetic drugs on Tuesday. Florida Attorney General Pam Bondi even went along for the ride at one of the busts. Sheriff’s Office: Get an Inside Look at Crime Fighting

The Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office is giving Westchase residents an opportunity to see inside the agency and how it works.

Westchase area residents who’ve been wondering just what goes on inside the Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office have a new way to get a behind-the-scenes look at the agency. A new webcast called "Inside HCSO" kicked off last week. It provides viewers with a peek inside the agency's daily operations. “The segments include information ripped right off ‘the police blotter,’ showcasing the quick actions of our patrol deputies, SWAT, dive, and aviation teams... all in the past couple of weeks,” a media release on the new webcast said. "Inside HCSO' features crime scene photos and updated information from active investigations we're trying to solve.” Each webcast, which will be released every other Friday, features a sheriff’s office employee …

Westchase Man Sexually Battered Child, Cops Say

Daniel Joseph Gosse was arrested May 12 on three counts of sexual battery on a child under 12.

A Westchase man remained behind bars early Monday morning after Hillsborough County Sheriff’s deputies say he “performed various sexual acts” on a child. Daniel Joseph Gosse, 54, of 9945 Montague St. was arrested Sunday, May 12 on three counts of sexual battery on a child under 12. The sheriff’s office says the mother of a female child reported the battery. An investigation “determined during the past 6 weeks, Daniel Gosse performed various sexual acts on the child who is not a family member,” according to a sheriff’s office media release. The incidents, deputies say, were not random. Gosse remained at the Hillsborough County Jail Monday without bond, according to jail records. OMG PD: Gator Bites Suspect; Pepper Spray Incident; Man Shot in Rear End Twice

School buses rolled out about 40 minutes later than usual May 3 at McLane Middle School in Brandon, where a chemical spray released earlier in the day, in a school hallway, injured 93 people, including 37 who were transported to the hospital with what were reported to be "very minor injuries." While a press conference was being held outside the school, after the final school buses left for the day, a 12-year-old student was being detained in the principal's office, according to Major Clyden Eisenbergy of the Hillsborugh County Sheriff's Office. "At this time we have a 12-year-old student who we're questioning as a suspect in this case," Eisenberg said. "There's evidence to suggest that this 12-year-old student dispersed this agent." The …

Village Market Employee Arrested For Theft

The 19-year-old is accused of stealing fishing equipment valued at $300.

A teen who worked at The Village Market in Westchase was arrested twice in one week for breaking into cars, according to a Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office report. Dylan Bailey, 19, was arrested on April 27 after he was found in an unlocked car parked at 9608 West Park Village Drive. The car's owner discovered Bailey inside and called the police. Bailey was released the same day on $2,000 bail. Three days later, Bailey was arrested again - this time for stealing fishing equipment from a car. In the second case, Bailey is accused of stealing fishing equipment valued at $300 from a car parked on Magnolia Blossom Drive in the West Park Village neighborhood. Odessa Home Invasions Connected to Man Charged in Triple Shooting

Pasco County Sheriff’s deputies say the same man who is accused of shooting three people and killing two in Citrus Park over the weekend also broke into two homes in Odessa on Sunday, May 5.

Jason Mark Burnett turned 37 on Saturday, May 4. He is accused of spending the very next day breaking into three homes, killing two people and injuring a third. That’s according to Pasco and Hillsborough County Sheriff’s deputies who say Burnett began a home invasion spree in Odessa in the early morning hours of May 5 that ended with three shootings and one death in Citrus Park. The first incident began around 9:45 a.m. May 5 when Pasco deputies say Burnett went to a home at 14339 Tifton Lane in Odessa and entered through an unlocked door. He walked into the home’s bedroom and demanded money from a woman. He left with the woman’s cell phone. At 10 a.m., deputies say Burnett paid a visit to a home at 1518 Rowland Drive. Arrests Made in Citrus Park Triple Shooting, Double Homicide

Two men are behind bars following a Sunday home invasion that left two women dead and another in serious condition.

Nel Mason would have turned 53 today, May 6. Her accused shooter turned 37 one day before Hillsborough County Sheriff’s deputies say he pulled the trigger during a robbery home invasion that ended Mason’s life and that of her close friend, Fern Giddings, 56. Mason’s daughter, Christina Soto, 35, was also injured in the Sunday attack in Citrus Park. Jason Mark Burnett now stands accused of two counts of first-degree murder and a host of other charges in relation to the May 5 shootings. Deputies have also charged Burnett with attempted first degree murder, home invasion robbery and aggravated assault with intent to commit a felony. Pinellas County Sheriff's deputies were called out to help capture a 10-foot-long alligator spotted wandering in the parking lot of an East Lake office complex early Tuesday morning. "They said the gator was snapping at cars in front of the dentist office," said Pinellas County Sheriff's Office Spokesperson Cristen Rensel. Deputies and officers from the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission used a rope to capture the gator, then Deputy Jeff Crandall wrapped the gator's mouth with duct tape while his partner tied the gator's feet. The alligator was placed in the back of a pickup truck and FWC officers took it away. Update: 2 Dead, 1 Injured After Shooting

The three female victims all lived at the same Citrus Park home. Police are interviewing people but have made no arrests.

Update 11:08 p.m. May 5: The third victim has been identified as Christina Soto, 35. She is in stable condition at St. Joseph's hospital. The investigation continues. Earlier: Two women are dead and one is in the hospital, after a triple shooting at a home in the Citrus Park area, where the three resided. The shooting occurred at 7420 Manhattan Drive on Sunday, May 5, at approximately 11:12 a.m., according to the Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office.
